The population of senior citizens in India is nearly 90 millions. To take care of their special aspects of diagnosis & treatment, the medical community is gearing up.
Geriatric Society of India (GSI) has been a crusader in this field for last three decades. A text book on Geriatrics & Gerontology (Geriatric Care) has been also brought out covering the medical and health aspects of Indian elderly in 98 chapters spread over in 786 A4 size pages.
The last two successive five year plans have given due attention to Geriatrics & Medical Council of India has also come forward for its teaching in medical colleges.
GSI has now launched a peer review journal containing original & review articles, drug review, management tips etc. I would request you to circulate this information to all the relevant people, contribute articles and make it available for teachers as well as students.
Indian Journal of Geriatric Care is published three times a year.
